Tennessee State University Brings the Business to Campus
On Tennessee State University’s campus, the Career Development Center is well known for their events that aid in networking and helping students and alumni alike to branch out and find career opportunities they never knew were available. This specific event coming up, the Internship Fair, focuses on bridging the gap between future employees and employers. The event assists former and current students with job preparation as well as broadening their ideas of what jobs their chosen majors can truly coincide with.
With more and more students getting prepared for graduation, the working world can be a total culture shock. The different mindset that is required in to maintain a lucrative and healthy working environment is definitely something the Career Development Center helps these students with every day.
A current Career Development Center student, William Taylor, was asked how he thought the fair would transpire and how he feels it would provide Tennessee State University students with guidance for their futures. His response was:
“I believe that the fall Career Fair has created enough buzz to attract a large amount of students to the internship fair this spring. This opportunity allows all majors to connect to professionals who are looking for students just like them, and will create mutual professional relationships and highlight the determination that students have to be successful. The career center does an excellent job of bridging the gap between the students and the employers, as they know this event is beneficial to both parties. Many students are not aware of the companies that are literally seeking them so the CDC puts employers on a platform to be seen by students. As a result, revenue and partnerships are granted to hard working interns and future employees.”
Overall, the campus is buzzing with excitement, and getting their best professional attire ready to charm and impress their future employers with their well-rounded knowledge of their desired career. For those interested in attending, the Internship Fair will take place on February 15th, 2018 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and you can get more information at the Career Development Center located in the Student Success Center, on the third floor.
